There are 5 men’s sizes altogether, going up to their size 5 which is for men of 6 foot one to 6 foot three, and for those of weights from 225 to 270 pounds.
What we love about this Gi, is how material disperses your sweat. This means you don’t have to worry about lingering body odor, no matter how sweaty you get during the fight/s.
We also love how, although it’s very lightweight to move around in, it’s also super durable.
We like its tapered fit and how the material doesn’t get in the way as you fight. And we like that the lapel has been reinforced - you probably already know how handy that can be!

BEST VALUE
This top-quality Gi also made the bestseller list with leading online retailers, earning 4 and a half stars out of 5 on Amazon, after well over 1,700 individual customer ratings.
It’s available in 5 different sizes, the largest being for those up to 6 foot 5 in height and up to 255 pounds in weight.
This Gi comes approved by the International BJJ Federation, which means that you can wear it to any competition or tournament held by the IBJJF.
It’s a very durable Gi, made with pearl weave fabric. It’s ultra-lightweight, with triple stitching on the joins.
But the one thing that really stands about this Gi, is that there is no glaring logo in the design, which makes it perfect for embroidering with the logo of your particular dojo.
We also love the EVA rubber collar, which makes it noticeably sturdier and thicker.
And the other great feature is the ripstop pants, designed for real durability on the mat.
Normally you have to treat your Gi in order to shrink it to fit, but with this Gi, you don’t need to bother - it’s already been done for you, and your Gi will arrive ready to wear.
It comes with a free white belt complete with a black rank bar for your stripes.
There are 5 colors to chose from, all the usual BJJ Gi colors.
I think the thing that we love the most about this Gi is it’s value for money, with it being slightly yet noticeably cheaper than many of the other best selling Gis on the market.
Yet the affordable price doesn’t mean it’s of any less quality - this beauty comes backed with a 1-year warranty.
Pros
- Completely logo free
- Ripstop pants & thick collar
- Free white belt with a rank bar
- Pearl weave fabric & triple stitching
- Comes with a 1-year warranty

RUNNER UP
What really impressed us about this Gi was the size range - the size chart goes up to size A6, which means you can even get yourself a Gi if you’re 6 foot 6 inches tall and 300 pounds in weight.
It’s also a bestseller with leading online retailers and has gone down very well with those that have bought it.
After about 1000 individual customer ratings, the average Amazon customer rating comes in at a very respectable 4 and a half stars out of 5.
And of course, we were impressed to learn that it’s the official Gi of the Olympic medalist and BJJ blackbelt Travis Stevens. Must be good quality if it has his seal of approval.
This Gi comes approved by the International BJJ Federation, which means that you can wear it to any competition or tournament held by the IBJJF.
It’s made from a premium cotton blend, with the stress points reinforced to make it extra durable.
We’d love to tell you what kind of weave it’s made of, but Fuji is determined to keep this secret, describing it simply as “special weave”.
And there are two other features that make this Gi a little different from the other ones we’ve shown you. It has a soft comfortable collar rather than rubberized, and it’s a mid-weight Gi rather than a lightweight one.
Normally you have to treat your Gi in order to shrink it to fit, but with this Gi, you don’t need to bother - it’s already been done for you, and your Gi will arrive ready to wear.

RUNNER UP
This top-quality Gi also comes in a large size. There are sizes to accommodate men of up to 6 feet and 8 inches in height and up to a whopping 270 pounds in weight.
It may not have sold quite as well as the more affordable counterparts, but it still comes highly recommended by those who have bought it.
After about 500 individual customer ratings, the average Amazon customer rating comes in at 4 and a half stars out of 5.
The largest size, the A5, weighs 3.4 pounds, which is quite lightweight for such a tough and durable Gi.
And the seams have been reinforced to withstand all that wear the Gi will get during those intense grappling sessions.
The jacket of the Gi is hand-crafted from premium fabric, using a pearl weave, which is why it costs noticeably more than some of the other Gis out on the market at the moment.
And the pants are of the ripstop variety, a blend of cotton and polyester to give real strength and durability as you grapple around.
There are several colors to choose from, but you should note that only the white, the blue, and the black varieties are IBJJF compliant for competitions and tournaments.
It’s very comfortable to wear, train in and compete in. And it looks as good as it feels, with its embroidery.

Best BJJ Gi for Big Guys Buying Guide
As promised here’s your guide to buying a BJJ gi for big guys..
Understanding Size Charts
If you’re buying your Gi online, please be sure to check the size chart on the product page. This is especially important if you’re a big guy.
Measure your height and your weight in pounds, and check to see if there’s an option that matches.
Color
If like most BJJ enthusiasts, you like to compete, then the color of your Gi is important and is not simply a personal preference. The colors blue, black, and white tend to be accepted in most competitions.
If you find yourself tempted by a less traditional color, please check with your coach beforehand to see if it’s considered suitable.
Weight
The more lightweight your Gi, the easier it will be to move around freely, unencumbered.
However, as you may well already know, you can work a midweight or thicker GI to your advantage as you grapple with your opponent.
Collar Fill
Many BJJ moves involve grabbing the gi’s collar, so the collar and it’s fill become important.
Most Gi collars are filled with either rubber or cotton, and since each type has its advantages and drawbacks, the best one for you kinda depends on your personal preference.
Weave
BJJ Gis are made with different kinds of weaves. Just like with the collar fill, different weaves come with their own set of pros and cons.
In the interest of brevity, we won’t delve into every type here, but we will instead go through some of the weaves that came up in our top 5 picks. (It’s beyond the scope of this article to go through them all).
Single weave Gis use less fabric than the other types, which makes them thinner than their counterparts. The result of this is that the Gi is more lightweight, and you also remain cooler than you otherwise would.
Single weave Gis are also typically more affordable than their counterparts, which tends to make them popular with beginners who’ve yet to form a true passion for the sport.
Pearl weave on the other hand is the most commonly used weave found in BJJ Gis. It’s particularly strong and durable.
GSM
GSM stands for Grams per Square Meter. The higher the GSM of the Gi, the more densely woven the fabric, and the thicker and heavier the Gi will be.
On the one hand, a high GSM Gi can slow you down, but on the other hand, you get a more durable, long-lasting Gi.
IBJJF Approved
If you intend to compete in IBJJF regulated competitions or tournaments, then you will need your Gi to be IBJJF compliant.
Something to definitely look out for as you shop.
